THOR Poletest Featured in Two T&D World Customer Storie

Two articles featuring THOR Poletest customers have run in T&D World this year, each explaining how the utility uses the technology within its inspection programme.

Kauai Island Utility Cooperative (February 2026) covers pole inspection on Kauai, where salt-laden air, constant rainfall and remote terrain shape how the work gets done. The article describes the move away from invasive inspection, the Pole Health Index produced by each test, and the ability to return to a pole years later for a comparable reading.

PowerNet (September 2026), one of New Zealand’s largest distribution businesses, describes using THOR for first-pass routine inspections across its southern rural networks, alongside a purpose-built rig at its Balclutha depot that loads decommissioned poles to failure, giving the team measured strength data to check field assessments against.
